Functional Behavioral Assessments & Behavior Interventions Plans
This training reviews the process of developing a Functional Behavioral Assessment (FBA) and Behavior Intervention Plan (BIP) as prescribed and required by federal and state law. The workshop will briefly review IDEA , the impact it has for school staff in dealing with discipline, and the requirements of FBAs, BIPs, and Manifestation Determinations. The training will include the components of completing a "brief" FBA as well the required components of a more detailed and complex FBA. Protocols are provided and time is spent addressing the process and requirements of who is responsible for completing an FBA as well as how to develop a team approach for this process.

- Know how to complete an appropriate FBA & BIP
- Have a variety of choices in formats for completing the process
- Gain skills in developing a team approach in developing the FBA/BIP
- Experience the process of completing a FBA/BIP
- Learn how to correlate FBAs & BIPs with writing behavioral IEP's
